New Delhi, May 3: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli has shared his thoughts on the electrifying atmosphere that playing against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Bengaluru brings. He described it as the most exciting environment he's experienced in an IPL game.

Kohli reminisced about the thrilling RCB vs CSK encounter in IPL 2024, where RCB emerged victorious by 27 runs to reach the playoffs. "Playing against CSK in Bengaluru is something else because a lot of Chennai fans travel to Bengaluru. They buy tickets early and take over sections of the stadium. That creates an intense atmosphere, and the game becomes highly competitive. It’s the most exciting environment I’ve been a part of," he said during an interview on JioHotstar.

In IPL 2025, Kohli has already scored 443 runs, continuing his form. He also took a trip down memory lane to the inaugural IPL season in 2008, recalling the unexpected thrills of the first year. “We hadn’t played much T20 cricket, and playing with international stars was an incredible experience. When the auction happened, we were in Malaysia, and we were sold for Rs 20 lakh. We went crazy in the corridor – ‘We got Rs 20 lakh!’” he laughed.

Reflecting on the league’s journey, Kohli acknowledged the IPL’s tremendous growth. "It’s been a long journey, and when IPL started, I never imagined it would reach this stage. But after 18 years, the excitement only grows, which is a massive credit to the league and the teams," he concluded.
