Doha, May 4: Goan Welfare Association, Qatar (GWA), Qatar in collaboration with Orbit Events and Marketing is all set to celebrate its Silver Jubilee Celebration and much awaited grand gala traditional 25th Annual May Queen Ball on May 9 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha from 7 pm onwards.
The highlight of the event will be the crowning of 25th May Queen. It will be an exciting fun-filled event celebrating 25 years of establishment and 25 years continuously organizing May Queen Ball.
The Goan Welfare Association (GWA) has been the face and voice of Goans living in the tiny oil-rich country of Qatar for the last 25 years without any doubt. Ably led for 25 continuous years by inimitable Simon D’Silva, the association, since inception has joined hands with charitable groups such as CRY and CARITAS and has rendered yeoman’s service in nurturing Goan culture and spirit among the large number of Goan expatriates. On a larger note the association has always been in the forefront of reaching out to various causes back home, thus setting a shining example to all. It is therefore not astonishing to see them host events with great aplomb and success over the last two-and-a-half decade. The association is known not only for meticulous planning but also perfect execution and the annual May Queen Ball has been a true example for this. The 25th edition of May Queen Ball promises to be an unforgettable evening of entertainment with best of music and attractive prizes and surprises, claims Simon D’Silva.
Mark Revlon, the Global Goan iconic singing sensation will mesmerize the crowd with his melodious voice. He is a self-taught musician, a music producer and has a band named Mark Revlon Band which is one of the most popular bands in Goa. He just performed last Friday in Kuwait for Goa Day and enthralled audiences in USA, England, Scotland, Canada, Australia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Bahrain, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar, India and in particular GOA.
To set the floor on fire, Goa's top and India's hottest live band Raagas2Riches will perform for the evening. Raagas2Riches has gained viral reputation in the live music scene with their impressive musicianship, dynamic performances, and captivating stage presence. The band covers music from genres like retro, pop, Latin, reggae, blues, rock, metal, Bollywood and many more. The band has become popular not only in Goa but all over India and abroad. Their repertoire includes music from multiple genres, such as Bollywood, Sufi, Punjabi, South Indian and western music.
DJ Queency hailing from vibrant shores of Goa, is a dynamic Indian DJ. She has expanded her craft, performing at private events while continuously refining her technique and sharpened her production skills at London Sound Academy. DJ Queency brings a fresh and global perspective to every set.
The event will be hosted by Goa’s top host and ace compere Updesh Swar. A gifted personality with natural communicating skills par excellence, Updesh redefines professionalism and poise on and off stage. Having had a highly popular and successful run at the top, Updesh is famed for his unique approach towards each event, giving attention to detailing.
In the past, May Queen Ball event has been graced by Indian celebrities, Indian ministers, MLA’s, Indian ambassadors to Qatar, diplomats and VIPs. This year Goa’s top state leaders will be attending the event.
May Queen Ball is one of the eagerly-awaited annual events in Doha and every year it attracts full-house audience who make it a memorable event.
