Mangaluru: Catholic Sabha Bondel unit office bearers for 2025–26 assume charge

Mangaluru, May 4: The installation ceremony of the office bearers of the Catholic Sabha Bondel Unit for the year 2025–26 was held on Saturday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the church mini hall.

The event began with a prayer, scripture reading, and reflection led by members of the Catholic Sabha. A hymn invoking the Holy Spirit set a reverent tone for the programme.

Unit president Stephan D'Silva extended a warm welcome to all attendees. He gave special recognition to Catholic Sabha city varado president Arun D'Souza and vice president Denzil Pinto from Derebail parish. Spiritual director Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza was welcomed with a rose, along with the election observer.

The successful conduct of the unit election held on March 9 was acknowledged. The annual report was presented by Lynet Pinto, while treasurer Manish Mascarenhas delivered the financial report. Before the oath-taking, Denzil D'Souza read out the responsibilities of the office bearers. The newly elected members then took their oath in the presence of the gathering, pledging to serve with sincerity and dedication.

In his address, parish priest Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza expressed gratitude to the outgoing office bearers and congratulated the newly elected team. He assured them of his continued support and encouraged members to uphold the values of service, sacrifice, and unity by supporting parish families with commitment and compassion.

All posts were filled unanimously. The new office bearers are:

  • Vice president: Herold Pinto
  • Secretary: Olivia D'Sa
  • Joint secretary: Juliana Lobo
  • Treasurer: Manish Mascarenhas
  • sruhit sanchalak: Anitha Thoras
  • Amcho Sandesh representative: Jaison Fernandes
  • samuday abhivruddi sanchalak: Richard Tauro
  • rajakiya sanchalak: Victoria D'Cunha
  • yuvajan hitha sanchalak: Edward D'Souza
  • Immediate past president: Stephan D'Silva

City varado president Arun D'Souza congratulated the new office bearers and appreciated the former team for their dedicated service. Vice president Denzil Pinto also extended his congratulations and shared his personal growth through the Catholic Sabha.

Outgoing president Stephan D'Silva congratulated the newly elected members and thanked all for their support during his tenure. Having served three terms, he especially thanked media convenor Meena Barboza for her valuable contributions.

New members were welcomed into the Catholic Sabha family, while internal auditors Wilfred Alvares and Juliet Dante were congratulated by the president for taking up their new roles.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Olivia D'Sa. A thanksgiving hymn was sung, followed by a fellowship meal shared in a spirit of unity and joy.
