Amroha, May 5: Indian pacer Mohammed Shami received a death threat via email on Sunday, prompting the Cyber Crime Police in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district to register an FIR..

The complaint, filed by Shami's brother Haseeb, names one Rajput Sindar as the sender and accuses him of demanding a ransom of Rs 1 cr.

The FIR, lodged on the orders of the Superintendent of Police, includes charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology (Amendment) Act. The police are currently investigating the threat.

Shami, who is playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025, has taken six wickets in nine matches so far.
