Mandya, May 6: In a chilling act of vengeance, a man from Mandya district allegedly murdered the father of his daughter's killer, nearly four months after her brutal death.
The victim, Narasimhe Gowda of Manikyanahalli village near Pandavapura, was stabbed to death on Tuesday, May 6, by Venkatesh, whose daughter Deepika had been murdered in January. Police say Venkatesh is now absconding.
Deepika, a 28-year-old schoolteacher and mother of one, was killed on January 19 by 21-year-old Nitesh Gowda, the son of the deceased. Enraged by her decision to end their relationship, Nitesh had lured her to an isolated location, attacked her with a stone, and buried her body. Her remains were found four days later.

Investigators now believe Venkatesh had been planning revenge ever since. Although his target was initially Nitesh, he turned to Nitesh's father, Narasimhe, after being unable to reach his daughter's killer.
Matters reportedly escalated when Venkatesh learned that Nitesh’s sister’s wedding was scheduled for the coming Sunday in Dharmasthala.
On Tuesday, he confronted Narasimhe at a tea stall and fatally stabbed him, allegedly shouting: “You got my daughter killed and now you’re celebrating your daughter’s wedding.”
Melukote Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for Venkatesh.
The original crime that triggered this act of retribution shocked the local community. Deepika, known for her presence on social media, had previously been warned by her family to end her association with Nitesh. Despite being married and a mother, she had remained in touch with him before eventually cutting ties.
This double tragedy has left the village stunned, reigniting concerns about violence linked to failed relationships and personal vendettas.
