Mangaluru, May 9: Applications are invited for one year Diploma course in Konkani theatre by Konkani’s lone theatre repertory KALAKUL run by Mandd Sobhann. Konkani speaking youth aged 15 to 35 are eligible to apply. The 20 artistes selected will be trained in theatre and cinema and will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 2500. This one-year diploma course will commence from July 1, and conclude on June 30, 2026, with training held from Monday to Friday, in the evening from 6.00 to 8:30 pm.
Since its establishment in 2008, Kalakul has successfully completed 14 batches and trained over 100 artists till date. Kalakul - pioneer of modern theatre in Konkani, has produced 60 plays so far and presented over 250 shows in India and the Gulf.
