Mangaluru, May 9: The Mangaluru City Police have registered a fresh case in connection with a provocative social media post linked to the recent murder of Suhas Shetty under the jurisdiction of Bajpe police station.
According to a press release from the Mangaluru City Police, an Instagram page titled beary_of_ullala had shared a reel in 2022 featuring photos of Fazil, who was murdered in Surathkal. The reel contained the message “MISS YOU Faasil”.
Further investigation revealed that an Instagram user with the handle bazigar8614 had commented on the reel saying, “This is not the end. Four more are left.” Based on this comment, the Ullal police registered a case under FIR No. 63/2025 under Sections 196 and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case has now been transferred to the Mangaluru City Cyber, Economic and Narcotics (CEN) police station for further investigation.
During the inquiry, the police traced the Instagram user who had followed the account and made the inflammatory comment. He was identified as Mohammad Akram of Haleyangady, Mangaluru. He is currently being questioned, and the investigation is ongoing.
