Dubai: Santhosh Perla Elected President of Emirates Konkans Kasargod

Dubai, Jan 22: The election for the first office-bearers of the newly-founded association of Kasargod deanery of UAE, Emirates Konkans Kasargod, was held at Al Shay hotel, Karama, Dubai.

Santhosh Perla was unanimously elected president and Stany Bela as secretary. Santhosh Perla, a graduate in law and native of Maniyampare Church (former Ukkinadka Church) of Kasargod deanery, is a well-known youth leader of the deanery. He served as presedint of Kasargod deanery ICYM between 2000-2011. Stany Bela is a well-known emerging writer in Konkani.



 

The newly-elected office-bearers are as follows:

· President : Santhosh Perla
· Vice-presidents : Richard Bela and Loy Kasargod
· Secretary : Stany Bela
· Joint secretary : Monica Maniyamapre
· Treasurer : Thomas, Kollangana
· Auditor : Vincent, Vorkady
· Cultural secretary : Benadict Bela.
· Sports secretary : Stephan Kasargod
· Media and ‘Mahima’ Rep : Vinod Kayyar and Felix Vorkady


The gathering commenced with a prayer by Vimala D'Souza, Vorkady. Thomas, Kollangana welcomed the gathering. With the election of the new committee a brief discussion was held with regard to the annual UAE special issue of ‘Mahima’, the official magazine of Kasargod deanery.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Loy Kasargod.
