Dubai, May 11: EKVOT – Konkani Catholic Associations leaders meet & greet occasion was held on Sunday, April 27 at Winny’s Restaurant & Confectionery organised by St Mary’s Mangalorean Community (SMMC), St Mary’s Catholic Church, Dubai
St Mary’s Mangalorean Community (SMMC), Dubai, hosted a vibrant and unifying event titled ‘EKVOT – Hand in hand, together we stand’ under guidance and leadership Fr Victor Fernandes OFM Cap, spiritual director. The evening brought together leaders from various Konkani Catholic Associations under one roof to promote unity, mutual respect, and collaborative growth.








































The gathering was commenced with a prayer by Sunitha Monteiro, SMMC liturgical coordinator. Followed by welcome note by Joseph Mathias, SMMC coordinator. Further to which every association coordinator presented brief about their association and shared their expectations with SMMC on how could we join each other as one team to build stronger Community. Diana D'Souza SMMC general secretary delivered the vote of thanks. Viyon Robin Veigas, SMMC assistant coordinator moderated the entire meeting and strongly emphasized the message of building a stronger and more united community.
The meet ended with a sumptuous dinner alongside the core committee members of SMMC. In a warm and inspiring atmosphere, association leaders engaged in meaningful interactions with each other.
The event emphasised the importance of cooperation, inclusiveness, and cultural celebration, with participants committing to work collectively for the betterment of the wider Konkani community. The initiative symbolized a collective stand for solidarity, shared purpose, and bridge-building across cultural and social lines.
