Udupi, May 12: Leena Mathias, a senior Congress leader from Shirva, succumbed to injuries on Monday, May 12 morning, at a private hospital in Udupi after being hit by a car.
The incident occurred while she was standing by the roadside. She sustained serious injuries in the accident and was admitted to the hospital, where she passed away during treatment.
Leena Mathias was a prominent Congress figure who had served in various capacities within the party. She was the vice president of the Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, a former state women’s Congress secretary, and an ex-member of the Shirva gram panchayat.
