Abu Dhabi, May 12: As part of its Pearl Jubilee celebrations, the Konkani Cultural Organisation (KCO) is set to entertain theatre lovers in Abu Dhabi with a laughter-packed evening featuring the popular Konkani comedy drama "Yenaa Zalyaar Vosanaa", written and directed by none other than the ‘Konkani Comedy Prince’, Pradeep Barboza Paladka. The show will be staged on Friday, June 14, at 6 pm, at the India Social Centre, Abu Dhabi.
Following its successful events earlier this year — a Thanksgiving Mass at St Joseph’s Cathedral in February and a career guidance workshop by Ronald Olivera on April 26 — KCO now brings a special treat for fans of Konkani stage performances with a side-splitting comedy play.
The drama "Yenaa Zalyaar Vosanaa" promises to be a laughter riot, presented by Pradeep Barboza along with his artistic troupe Sangon Mugdana Kalakar. Known for his impeccable comic timing and vibrant stage presence, Pradeep is a multifaceted talent — a playwright, director, and actor — who has carved a niche for himself in both Konkani and Tulu theatre circles, in India and across the Gulf. He has written 14 plays and has also scripted and directed one Konkani and one Tulu film.
Audiences can expect engaging performances, humorous gags, and a wholesome evening of entertainment. KCO has assured that the play will live up to the high standards of cultural events the organisation is known for.
KCO has also earned wide recognition for its philanthropic work in the UAE, GCC countries, and India. It has been consistently supporting underprivileged students by distributing scholarships managed by Samanvaya, Mangaluru, and aiding patients suffering from critical illnesses. Additionally, KCO supports numerous NGOs working with the distressed in Mangaluru and Udupi districts.
The June 14 event is expected to draw a large audience of theatre lovers and community members from across the region.
