Mangaluru: Inter-govt college festival ‘Jnanaratha’ held

Mangaluru, May 14: The alumni association at Dr P Dayananda Pai P Sathisha Pai Govt First Grade College, Car Street, in collaboration with IQAC organised Jnanaratha 2025, a university-level inter-collegiate fest exclusively for government degree colleges of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on May 14.

The inauguration was graced by Santhosh Pai, an alumnus and proprietor, Beastmode Fitness Studio, Krishnapura as the chief guest. It was presided by Dr Jayakar Bhandary M, principal. The IQAC coordinators Deviprasad, IQAC co-coordinator Dr Jyothi Priya, president of the Alumni Association Dheeraj Kumar welcomed the gathering. Alumni Association convenor Nagaraj gave a prelude to Jnanaratha, coordinator of the fest. Monisha Shetty (Alumni) proposed the vote of thanks and Louis Manoj Ambrose – facilitator of Jnanaratha was present on the dais.

The events held during the day and the winners are as follows

1. Chameleon

Runners: Neha Kumari – DPDPPSPGFGC Car Street
Third Place: Ali Ashkar – GFGC Mudipu

2. Best Manager
Winner: Kaveri – DPDPPSPGFGC Car Street

3. Digital Poster Making
Winner: Hemachandra Poojary – DPDPPSPGFGC Car Street
Runners: Vijay Salian – GFGC Kaup Udupi Dist
Third Place: Kavyashree – GFGCW Balmatta

4. General Quiz
Winners: Arun & Nishanth A – DPDPPSPGFGC Car Street
Runners: Hamza Safeer & Faseeh – GFGC Mudipu
Third Place: Sanjana & Shreya – GFGC Kavoor

Overall Winners: Dr P Dayananda Pai P Satisha Pai GFGC Car Street
Overall Runners: Govt First Grade College for Women, Balmatta

The valedictory and prize distribution ceremony was graced by Prof Vasanthi & Dr Dugappa Kajekar. Deviprasad – IQAC coordinator, Shanthi – NSS coordinator, Nagaraj – convenor Alumni Association, Dheeraj Kumar president of Alumni Association and Tushar, secretary of Alumni Association were present on the dais.

The beauty of the fest was that the entire programme was planned and executed by the students of the college with guidance from the teachers. It was a day of experiential learning, participation, observation and above all an opportunity to enjoy the reward of the effort of two weeks of teamwork.
