London, May 15: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday revealed the squads for the upcoming home series against West Indies, with key inclusions and notable omissions making headlines ahead of the summer clash.

Star spinner Sophie Ecclestone, recovering from a knee issue, has been left out despite making a promising return to domestic cricket for Lancashire, where she showcased her batting prowess with a half-century.

Pacer Issy Wong, who last featured for England during the Ireland tour in September, has earned a recall to the T20I side. Wong impressed selectors with consistent performances in the early domestic fixtures and a productive stint with England Women A in Australia. Warwickshire seamer Emily Arlott also finds herself in both squads, yet awaits her international debut.

Maia Bouchier, however, has been omitted from the T20I squad, raising eyebrows among fans.

In a strong nod to domestic form, Emma Lamb and Alice Davidson-Richards return to the ODI setup after standout performances in the One Day Cup. They are joined by Tammy Beaumont and Linsey Smith, with Smith leading the domestic wicket-takers’ chart in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Nat Sciver-Brunt will lead both squads, with stalwarts Heather Knight, Amy Jones, and Danni Wyatt bringing experience and stability to the English side.

The ODI and T20I series will serve as key preparation for both nations ahead of the ICC Women’s Championship and T20 World Cup cycles.

England Women’s T20I squad: Nat Sciver-Brunt (C), Emily Arlott, Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Bell, Alice Capsey, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sarah Glenn, Amy Jones, Heather Knight, Paige Scholfield, Linsey Smith, Issy Wong, Danni Wyatt-Hodge.

England Women’s ODI squad: Nat Sciver-Brunt (C), Alice Davidson-Richards, Emily Arlott, Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Bell, Kate Cross, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Mahika Gaur, Sarah Glenn, Amy Jones, Heather Knight, Emma Lamb, Linsey Smith.
