New Delhi, May 18: Delhi Police cracked a brutal murder case in Seelampur just a day after the incident, arresting five suspects including three juveniles.
On the night of May 16, during routine patrolling, a police constable found a young man lying in a pool of blood inside Central Park, Seelampur. The victim, later identified as Rehan alias Seelampuriya from Maujpur, was discovered between a bench and a pathway with severe injuries. He was rushed to JPC Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

A case under section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Seelampur police station. Crime and forensic teams were immediately deployed to gather evidence.
Under the supervision of DCP North-East District Hareshwar V. Swami, the investigation proceeded swiftly. Within hours, two adult suspects—Faiz alias Alli (23) and Rahil alias Sahil (22)—and one juvenile were apprehended. Using CCTV footage, local intelligence, and confessions from the accused, two more juveniles aged between 15 and 17 from New Seelampur and Trilokpuri were also arrested.
According to DCP Hareshwar V Swami, the accused were involved in petty crimes and were part of a group. Tensions escalated when the victim began associating with a rival faction. On the night of the crime, the accused lured Rehan to the park under the guise of settling differences but attacked him with stones, bricks, and a shaving blade when he resisted. They fled the scene after fatally injuring him.
Police continue their investigation to probe the suspects’ possible involvement in other criminal activities and are progressing with legal formalities.
