Udupi, May 19: For the first time in the state, the 'DG and IGP Commendation Medal' for the year 2024-25 has been awarded.

Four police personnel from Udupi district, including superintendent of police Dr Arun K, have been selected for this prestigious honour.

The other recipients are sub-inspector Violet Femina of the Malpe Coastal Security Police, head constable Gurudas from the Kundapur traffic police station, and armed reserve head constable Santosh from the Udupi district armed reserve force.

The medals will be officially presented at a ceremony in Bengaluru on May 21.
