Puttur, May 19: A biker lost his life after his two-wheeler rammed into a lorry parked on the roadside near the Urlandi bypass on the Mani–Mysuru National Highway late May 18 night.

The deceased has been identified as Sudeep (36), a resident of Kunjuru in Aryapu village, Puttur taluk.

According to reports, the lorry, which was transporting shamiana materials, had been parked on the roadside allegedly without any warning signs. Due to drizzling rain at the time, Sudeep reportedly failed to notice the stationary vehicle and collided into the rear end of the lorry.

The impact of the collision was severe, throwing Sudeep onto the road and inflicting serious head injuries. Though he was immediately rushed to a hospital in Puttur, he succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.

It is learnt that Sudeep was on his way to visit his sister's house in Neralakatte, Bantwal taluk, when the mishap occurred.

Puttur traffic police visited the spot, conducted an inspection, registered a case, and have begun further investigation.
