Bahrain Kulals hosts Kumbha Trophy 2025 with vibrant participation

Bahrain, May 19: The Bahrain Kulals community successfully organised the Kumbha Trophy 2025, a spirited sports event held at ALI CLUB, Bahrain, aimed at promoting camaraderie, unity, and sportsmanship among Karnataka-origin communities in the Kingdom.

This year’s edition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with six men’s volleyball teams and seven women’s throwball teams taking part, making it a day filled with energy, competition, and cultural pride.

Event highlights and results

Women’s Throwball:

• Winners: Roman Catholic Bahrain Warriors
• Runners-up: Konkan Karnataka Social Team A
• Best server: Vinola – Roman Catholic Bahrain Warriors
• Best player: Vimala – Konkan Karnataka Social Team A
• Best disciplined team: Konkan Sea Guys

Men’s Volleyball:

• Winners: Konkan Zinj Friends
• Runners-up: Bunts Bahrain
• Best attacker: Ussama – Konkan Zinj Friends
• Best setter: Nithin – Bunts Bahrain
• Most valuable player (MVP): Raki – Konkan Zinj Friends
• Best Disciplined Team: Bahrain Billawas

The event was graced by Girish K H, founder president of Kumbhashree Residential School, Venoor, who travelled from India to serve as the chief guest and present trophies to the winners.

Prominent guests of honour included:

• Rajkumar – president, NRI Forum Bahrain
• Ajith Bangera – president, Kannada Sangha Bahrain
• Prakash Anchan – president, Bahrain Billawas
• Austin Santhosh – member, Tulu Koota Bahrain

Their presence added prestige and encouragement to the sporting spirit of the event.

Ganesh Manila, president of Bahrain Kulals, said, “The Kumbha Trophy is more than just a tournament. A big thank you to every player, supporter, and volunteer who made this event a memorable success.”
