New Delhi, May 19: The BJP on Monday strongly reacted to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of External Affairs minister S Jaishankar over alleged aircraft losses during Operation Sindoor, accusing him of “speaking the language of Pakistan.”
BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya urged Rahul Gandhi to ‘desist from distorting facts’ and shared a statement by Army CGMO Lt gen Rajiv Ghai dated May 11, 2025, countering Gandhi’s claims. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla also circulated a video of Gandhi’s accusations being aired on Pakistan-based Geo News TV, accusing him of echoing Pakistan’s narrative.

Rahul Gandhi had accused EAM Jaishankar of a ‘damning silence’ on how many Indian aircraft were lost due to Pakistan’s prior knowledge and called it a ‘crime’ demanding truth. Despite PIB fact-checks debunking these allegations, Gandhi renewed his attack on social media platform X.
The ministry of External Affairs clarified that Jaishankar’s statement referred to warnings given to Pakistan at the early phase of Operation Sindoor, not before its commencement, condemning Gandhi’s claims as a ‘false representation of facts.’
