MCC warns against unauthorized street vending on govt land, footpaths

Mangaluru, May 19: The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has issued a public notice warning against unauthorized vending and encroachments on government land, footpaths, roadsides, and pavements across the city.

According to the release from the office of the MCC commissioner, illegal occupation of public spaces for storing goods and operating fast food or petty shops is causing serious inconvenience to both the public and vehicular movement. The corporation has stated that such obstructions must be cleared immediately in the interest of public safety and urban order.

The MCC has further warned that if vendors fail to remove their encroachments voluntarily, the civic body will launch continuous eviction drives. Legal action will also be taken against those violating the rules.

The public notice urges all concerned to cooperate with the administration and help maintain cleanliness, safety, and smooth traffic flow within city limits.
