Udupi, May 24: The country’s first EV highway patrol vehicles under the ‘Rajmarg Saathi’ initiative were launched near the Hejamady toll plaza on Friday for the maintenance of National Highway 66.

The vehicles have been introduced with the key objective of ensuring the smooth management of the national highway stretch from Kundapur to Talapady.

The Rajmarg Saathi highway patrol vehicles have been introduced across the country for better highway management. These vehicles will be operated covering the Sasthan, Hejamady, and Talapady toll plazas.

The well-equipped Rajmarg Saathi vehicles will patrol their designated stretches throughout the day at fixed times, identifying and immediately clearing road potholes and obstructions to ensure smooth traffic flow. They will monitor road conditions daily, undertake on-the-spot repairs, and report to concerned authorities.
