Udupi: Woman collapses during prayer at church, dies on the spot

Udupi, May 26: Shanti (52), a resident of Kharvi Kelakere, Kundapur, died after collapsing during a prayer session at a church in Ajjarkad, Udupi.

According to a complaint lodged by her daughter Kavitha, a resident of Mangaluru, the incident occurred on May 25 between 11:15 AM and 11:30 AM. Shanti was attending a prayer session when she suddenly collapsed. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Udupi for medical attention, but doctors declared her dead around 12:30 PM.

It is reported that Shanti had been suffering from thyroid and uterine-related health issues for the past five years and was undergoing treatment at KMC Hospital, Manipal. It is suspected that complications related to these pre-existing medical conditions may have caused her sudden death.

A case has been registered at Udupi town police station.
