UAE: Vokkaligara Sangha Celebrates Makara Sankranti with Fun-filled Event

Dubai, Jan 24: The Fortune Pearl Hotel, Deira, was witness to an incredible Sankranti celebration organised by the 'Vokkaligara Sangha', UAE recently.

The function began with the ritualistic puja to the Sun God by the founder president Ravish Gowda and his wife Savitha, conducted by Pandit Shiddaramayya Hiremath. The members and guests received the traditional 'Yellu Bella' along with the blessings of the deity. Vice-president Krishnamurthy, introducing Vokkaligara Sangha welcomed the guests.

The function had a 'couples' theme and MC Dr Rashmi Nandkishore was exceptional in keeping the audience entertained with various spot games and challenges. The festive ambience was a beautiful sight with everybody dressed in eye-catching Indian ethnic wear.

The children’s 'Talent Show' was enthralling with the tiny tots setting the stage on fire. Kushi Yeshwanth, Rea R Salian, Shravya, Adithya Kasagaru, Adithi Prabhu and Daivik were the winners of the show. The winners of the spot game 'Couple Dance', Pallavi and Basavaraj took home exciting prizes. Couples Ravish Gowda and Savitha, Mallikarjun Gowda and Jyothi gave a tough fight with their hidden talent, which delighted the audience. Chaitra Bharath’s dance performance for the song 'Nadheem Dheem Tana' had everyone mesmerized.

All in all, the function was fun and enjoyed by one and all, including guests from several Karnataka organisations. The organising committee consisting of president Ravish Gowda, Krishnamurthy, Harish Kodi, Dr Rashmi Nandkishore, Bharath Gowda, Kiran Gowda, Meena Harish, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Prathima Yeshwanth, Chaitra Bharath, Ganesh Prasad, Naveen Gowda and other members did a commendable job. Ravish Gowda at the end thanked all the guests for their support.
