Kasargod, May 30: The continuous spell of heavy rains lashing Kasargod district has led to flood-like conditions in several parts of the region. Among the affected areas is the historic Madhur Mahaganapathi Temple, which was inundated by floodwaters following the downpour.

The temple premises, located close to the banks of the Madhuvahini river, were submerged as the water level rose sharply due to the relentless rain. Devotees and locals were taken by surprise as water entered the sanctum area, disrupting regular worship activities.

Authorities have initiated measures to ensure the safety of the temple structure and are monitoring the situation closely. Local residents have also joined hands in efforts to divert water and minimize damage.

The Madhur temple is one of the most prominent religious and cultural landmarks in the region, and the flooding has raised concerns among devotees and conservationists alike. As rains continue to lash the district, officials have urged the public to remain cautious and avoid venturing into flood-prone zones.
