Karkala, Jan 24: Thousands of devotees flocked to St Lawrence Shrine at Attur here on Tuesday January 24 on the first day of the three-day annual festival.

Fr Francis Serrao, provincial, Karnataka Jesuits, presided over the Eucharistic Mass.

Fr Serrao, in his meaningful homily, laid emphasis on God’s abundant grace that is showered on mankind for their unfailing trust in Him.

He narrated the parables from the Holy Bible to send the message across to a magnitude of devotees.

Mangala Jyoti director Fr Boniface Pinto, Pastoral Centre assistant director Fr Vijay Machado, St Anthony’s Orphanage assistant director Fr Francis D’Souza, Fr Muller Charitable Institutions chaplain Fr Felix Monteiro, Attur parish priest Fr Arthur Pereira and other clergies joined in the liturgical service.

Special prayers were held for the ailing and sick on the occasion.

St. Lawrence pray for us that, in the hour of our temptation, we may have the strength to endure as you did, whether in the trial of our vices or in the trial of persecution.
