Kundapur: Celebrated Star Vasundhara Das Gets Married, Quietly

Kundapur, Jan 25: Multi-talented actress-cum-singer Vasundhara Das married her long-time friend Robert Naren away from the buzz of movie world. Robert belongs to the music troupe, ‘Arya’. The marriage took place a few days back in the presence of a handful of family members of both the bride and the groom.

The marriage was solemnized at ‘Namma Bhoomi’, a training centre of Concerned for Working Children Society (CWC) located near here, a few days back. ‘Namma Bhoomi’ has enabled hundreds of children and aspiring youth to realize their dreams by getting shelter, training, and guidance here.

It may be recalled, that Vasundhara Das, who had approached renowned actor, Kamal Hassan,  a few years ago for a chance to sing in his films, had been instantly offered a role in his Hindi movie, ‘Hey Ram’, because of her good looks. Das, who handles her acting assignments as well as play back singing and ‘Vasundhara Das Night’ shows with aplomb, is a trained Hindustani and Carnatic vocalist.

She has also acted in Malayalam and Tamil movies. Her singing talent is not restricted to classical singing alone, and has a huge fan following for her pop music. She has presented several shows in foreign countries too. Her recent show at National Youth Festival in Mangalore had become an instant hit, and scores of people had turned into her fans overnight.

Robert has also been a skilled musician. The two were in love since the last several years, and decided to tie nuptial knots only recently. No others, except those who are close to the couple, had been invited for the marriage, and hence, the star had succeeded in keeping her wedding plan a secret.
