Mangaluru, Jun 2: The inaugural function of the two-day International Conference on 'Frontiers of Electronics and smart Technologies-2025' was held on May 30 at Srinivas Institute of Technology.
The conference was inaugurated by chief guest, Dr Niranjan Sampathila, professor and head of the department of Biomedical Engineering MIT Manipal. The programme was presided over by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of Srinivas Institute of technology, Mangaluru.
Delivering the inaugural address, Dr Niranjan Sampathila spoke on the topic of AI in healthcare and its associated challenges. He emphasised the importance of fostering a strong research culture among students, encouraging them to actively engage in research activities and strive to publish their project work in reputed Scopus-indexed journals, as well as present their findings at international conferences.
In his presidential address, Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D highlighted the importance of conferences in advancing research and development, as well as the critical role of research exchange in keeping pace with the latest trends. He advised students to make optimal use of the facilities and resources available within the institute to improve the quality of their research work.
Prof Rakesh Mallya, convener of ICFEST- 2025, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Dr Sooryakrishna K conference chair, HOD, electronics and communication department. briefed about the conference.
Prof Gourish S Hegde delivered vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and attendees. Prof Deeksha and Prof Flavita from the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering served as the master of ceremonies, ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.
