Top police officials of Mangaluru, DK, Kasargod hold coordination meet

Mangaluru, June 2: In a step towards strengthening inter-state coordination and maintaining law and order along the Karnataka-Kerala border, Mangaluru city police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy and Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police Dr Arun K held a joint meeting with Kasargod SP Vijay Bharat Reddy on Monday, June 2.
The meeting is a part of ongoing efforts to enhance inter-district collaboration and ensure peace and security in the sensitive border areas.
During the meeting, the officials discussed tracing suspects and absconding accused involved in communal cases, de-escalating communal tensions through improved coordination, and controlling inter-state crimes. They also deliberated on conducting joint monitoring and raids to curb illegal transportation of cattle and sand across the border. Information was shared regarding individuals known to incite communal unrest on either side of the border. Additionally, issues concerning students from Kerala studying in Mangaluru, particularly relating to their safety and well-being, were taken up for discussion.
