New Delhi, Jun 3: Delhi police arrested a 35-year-old man, Rajpal, wanted for the abduction and murder of a differently-abled woman, following an encounter at Kalindi Kunj on Tuesday.
Rajpal, a hotel staffer from Paharganj and native of Etah, Uttar Pradesh, was tracked after police received a tip about his presence near Pusta Road.

Early Sunday, Rajpal allegedly abducted the woman from Madanpur Khadar where she was sleeping on the terrace with her parents. Her body was later found dumped in an abandoned shanty nearby.
The woman was reported missing around 1:02 am by a local resident through a PCR call, prompting multiple police teams to launch an immediate search. The body was sent to AIIMS for post-mortem and a case was registered.
Police identified Rajpal as the prime suspect and laid a trap on Monday night. When confronted, Rajpal fired at the police, hitting a sub-inspector’s bulletproof jacket. Police returned fire, injuring Rajpal in the right leg, and took him to hospital.
Authorities recovered a country-made pistol, the clothes worn during the crime, and CCTV footage showing Rajpal carrying the woman on his shoulder.
Rajpal’s background includes two failed marriages and ongoing troubles with his third wife, alongside a history of violent temper and alcoholism. Investigations into the motive continue.
