Greater Noida, Jun 4: In a pulsating semifinal showdown at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex on Wednesday, Trans Titans edged out American Strikers by just seven runs, securing their spot in the grand finale of the Intercontinental Legends Championship.
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, American Strikers faced a Titans onslaught that saw the scoreboard tick up to a formidable 239/5 in 20 overs. Titans captain Rishi Dhawan led the charge with an electrifying 90 off just 40 balls, while opener Jesse Ryder chipped in 31. Sumit Verma (44) and Naman Sharma (48) provided late-innings fireworks, propelling the Titans beyond the 230-mark.
In response, American Strikers put up a gritty fight. Key knocks came from Shoaib Khan (42), Ayaan Khan (38), Pradeep Sangwan (35), and Ishan Malhotra (38), but their collective efforts fell just short, ending at 232/7. The Titans held their nerve in the final overs, clinching the victory by a whisker.
