Mangaluru, Jun 5: The sixth day of the Tredicina devotion in honour of St Anthony of Padua was prayerfully observed at St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu, and St Anthony Shrine, Milagres Church, on Wednesday, June 5. The day’s theme, “Know God and Your Neighbour through Love – Walk as Pilgrims of Hope,” echoed the central message of Christian discipleship rooted in love of God and love of neighbour.
At the 6 pm novena Mass at Milagres Church, Fr Maxim D’Souza, parish priest of St Joseph Church, Jeppu, was the main celebrant. In his homily, Fr Maxim emphasised that authentic love of God must overflow into selfless service and compassion towards others. Reflecting on the life and mission of St Anthony, he urged the faithful to rediscover the face of God in the suffering and poor.

The Mass was concelebrated by Fr J B. Crasta, director of St Anthony’s Charitable Institutions and Fr Praveen Martis, administrator of the Ashram.
After the Mass, Fr Praveen Martis led the novena devotion, lifting up the prayers and petitions of the people and entrusting them to St Anthony, known as the miracle Worker. The solemn prayers, traditional hymns, and the litany drew hundreds of devotees into deeper trust in the saint’s intercession.
Meanwhile, at St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu, the day began with Masses at 6 am and 11:30 am, followed by the serving of free lunch to all the faithful who participated in the novena — continuing the Ashram’s mission of love, hospitality, and care for the poor.
