Loreto English Medium High School CBSE celebrates World Environment Day

Bantwal, Jun 6: Loreto English Medium High School affiliated to CBSE celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, with great spirit and awareness. A special assembly was organised to mark the occasion.

The programme began with a melodious song by the students, promoting the message of environmental care. This was followed by a meaningful skit performed by students, conveying the need to reduce pollution and protect the planet.

Dale Alba Lobo from grade 8 delivered a short speech explaining the significance of World Environment Day. She also spoke about theme ‘Putting an end to plastic pollution’ and encouraged everyone to take small steps to reduce plastic waste and protect the earth.

The school principal, Fr Jason Vijay Monis, addressed the students and shared his thoughts on environmental responsibility. He reminded everyone that we are alive because of mother earth, and it is our duty to protect her. He urged students to avoid plastic usage, not to throw chocolate wrappers carelessly, and to practise cleanliness starting from home.

The event featured a sapling plantation drive, with participation from students, the principal, staff, and the school management committee, emphasizing the importance of a greener and cleaner environment.

The event was compered by Dhanvitha of grade 10.
