Goa, Jun 6: In a quick and commendable response, the Calangute Panchayat sprang into action after a massive tree fell on the revered Shree Tateshwar Temple located in Cobra Vaddo, Calangute. The incident, which could have led to a major mishap, was efficiently tackled by the Panchayat and its Disaster Management team under the supervision of Panch member Sapnesh Vaigankar.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel joined hands with local authorities to safely cut and clear the fallen tree. Demonstrating its preparedness and eco-conscious approach, the Panchayat deployed a wood chipper machine to shred the tree remains into fine mulch — an effort both efficient and environmentally friendly.
Thanks to the prompt intervention, the area was secured swiftly with no reported injuries or significant structural damage. Locals praised the Panchayat’s timely action, which not only ensured public safety but also highlighted the importance of community-focused disaster management.
