Kundapur: MCN celebrates World Environment Day at Basrur PHC

Kundapur, Jun 6: Moodlakatte Nursing College (MCN) celebrated World Environment Day in association with the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Basrur on June 5.

Dr Vidya Ashok, administrative medical officer of Basrur PHC, addressed the harmful effects of plastic pollution on the environment.

Dinakar Shetty, president of the Basrur Gram Panchayat, emphasized that environmental awareness and responsibility lie with every individual and flagged off the awareness rally.

Bharathi, a 5th-semester BSc nursing student, spoke on the significance of World Environment Day and its relevance in today’s world.

The highlight of the programme was a cleanliness drive carried out by the 5th-semester nursing students, who aimed to spread awareness among the public through their active participation in cleaning the surroundings.

The programme began with a welcome address by student Nikita, and the vote of thanks was delivered by student Divya. The event was compered by student Sincy.

Akshata and Chetan, faculty members of the nursing college, MCN students, staff members of the Basrur PHC, and local residents, were present during the programme.
