Youth dies on spot after KSRTC bus hits him near Farangipete

Bantwal, Jun 7: In a tragic road accident, a 28-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a KSRTC bus while crossing the road near the 10th milestone on National Highway 75 near Farangipete on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Zahid, a resident of Amemmar. He was returning after helping schoolchildren cross the highway safely when the incident occurred.  A speeding KSRTC bus heading from Mangaluru reportedly hit him, resulting in his instant death.

Zahid was working as an auto-rickshaw driver and was known in the locality for his helpful nature. He is survived by his mother, three brothers, and two sisters. His untimely demise has left the community in shock.

A case has been registered at the Bantwal traffic police station, and further investigation is underway.
