Srinivas University, Institute of Aviation Studies organises two creative art competitions

Mangaluru, Jun 7: As part of the World Environment Day celebrations on June 5, the Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, organized two creative art competitions Bottle Painting titled ‘Pot It Green’ and Paper Painting titled ‘Brushes for the Biosphere'. Both events were held with the support and encouragement of dean, Dr Pavithra Kumari and HOD Anjana T V, Institute of Aviation Studies, who actively promotes activities that nurture student creativity and environmental awareness.

The bottle painting competition followed the theme ‘From Waste to Wonder', inspiring students to creatively reuse discarded bottles and transform them into beautiful and useful art pieces. Seven participants, working in teams of two from BBA aviation management, BBA aviation & logistics management, and BBA aviation travel and tourism management courses, took part in this event. The first place was awarded to Gloriya Gabriel Noronha and Martha Martin Fernandes from II BBA aviation management, while the second place went to Akash A and Ismail E V from II BBA aviation & logistics management.

Simultaneously, the paper painting competition encouraged students to capture ‘The Beauty of Nature’ through their artwork, promoting emotional connection and appreciation for the environment. Six participants from undergraduate and postgraduate aviation courses showcased their talent, with Abhishek Bin Subash from II BBA aviation & logistics management winning the undergraduate category and Haarith Ahamed from I MBA aviation management securing the postgraduate top spot. Both competitions successfully highlighted the importance of environmental sensitivity and offered students a meaningful platform to express their concerns and love for nature through artistic creativity.
