Bantwal, Jun 7: Muslim brethren across Bantwal taluk celebrated Bakrid, the festival symbolising sacrifice and devotion, with great religious fervour and unity.
At the Nooruuddin Juma Masjid in Guddayangadi near Panemangalore, Eid Khutbah and Eid Namaz were held, led by Khateeb Asif Dharimi, who also extended Eid greetings to the congregation. Bantwal Municipal Council member Abubakkar Siddique, Masjid president Abubakkar Melkar, and community leaders including Mohammad Hanif, Abdul Majeed Bogodi, Abdul Farooq, Mohammad Ansar Bogodi, Siraj Sajipa, and Sadiq of Guddayangadi, along with hundreds of worshippers, participated in the prayers and extended wishes of peace and joy to all.

At the Vittal Central Juma Masjid, Khateeb Arif Bakhavi led the Eid Khutbah and Namaz. The sermons reflected on the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim and the obedience of Prophet Ismail, underscoring the significance of ridding oneself of evil and seeking divine pleasure through righteous deeds.
The Khateebs urged everyone to forgive past grievances and embrace unity. Worshippers exchanged heartfelt greetings and handshakes, embodying the festival’s message of brotherhood and harmony.
