Bengaluru, Jun 7: In a worrying development, Karnataka has reported two more Covid-19 related deaths and 57 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, raising concerns about a possible resurgence of the virus.
As per the latest bulletin issued by the department of health and family welfare, a total of 542 tests were conducted across the state, of which 57 returned positive. With this, the total number of active cases has surged to 894.

Among the active cases, 519 patients are currently undergoing treatment, with 356 under home isolation and 13 admitted to hospitals for advanced care. The remaining patients have either recovered or are being monitored.
Health officials have confirmed that the two fresh fatalities reported today were Covid-related, taking the total death toll in the ongoing spell higher. The department has assured that strict surveillance measures are in place to monitor and manage the evolving situation.
Authorities, however, have stated that there is no immediate reason to panic. Nevertheless, they have urged citizens to remain alert, follow basic precautions, and avoid unnecessary crowding. Senior officials reiterated that early detection and community awareness are key in curbing the spread.
The government continues to monitor the situation closely and has appealed to the public to remain vigilant while the healthcare system stays on alert.
