Mysuru, Jun 8: The fifth day of the Novena devotion in preparation for the annual feast of St Anthony was observed with deep faith and devotion on June 8, at St Anthony's Basilica in Dornahalli, Mysuru.
The morning Eucharistic celebration was offered by Fr G Joseph, filling the faithful with spiritual peace and grace as the day began.

The solemn main Eucharistic celebration was led by Msgr Alfred J Mendonca, vicar general of the diocese of Mysore. He was joined by Fr David Sagayaraj, rector of the Basilica, and Fr Praveen Pedru, administrator of the Basilica, who added to the spiritual richness of the celebration.
The theme for the day, “Hope helps in suffering,” emphasised the role of hope in helping individuals endure pain, trials, and difficult times. Through heartfelt reflections and prayers, the faithful were encouraged to hold onto hope as a guiding light through the storms of life.
After the holy Mass, the Novena prayers were devoutly recited, invoking the powerful intercession of St Anthony for the intentions and needs of all present.
The celebration concluded with a reverent procession of the holy statue of St Anthony, followed by the Benediction of the blessed sacrament. The day left the congregation spiritually uplifted and strengthened in their faith.
