Karkala: Tragedy on birthday - Father dies in accident while bringing ice cream for child

Karkala, Jun 9: In a heart-breaking incident, a man lost his life on his child's birthday in Parapu, Kukkundoor village of Karkala taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Subrahmanya Salian (36), a resident of Parapu in Kukkundoor, an auto driver by profession and president of the BJP Kukkundoor village committee.

On Saturday night, as part of birthday celebrations, Subrahmanya had left home on his scooter to get ice cream for his child. However, while returning around 10:30 pm, he lost control of his scooter near the Parapu bridge and fell into the stream below. Despite frantic search efforts throughout the night, his whereabouts remained unknown.

On Sunday, locals discovered his lifeless body along with the scooter under the bridge.

Subrahmanya is survived by his parents, sister, wife, and daughter. A case has been registered at the Karkala town police station.
