Mumbai, Jun 9: The NBA House made its dynamic debut in India this weekend, transforming Mumbai’s Dome, SVP Stadium, into a pulsating celebration of basketball, music, street culture, and community. Coinciding with the 2025 NBA Finals, the two-day event brought together NBA legends, Indian celebrities, and music stars for an unforgettable fan experience.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) curated a jam-packed program that blended live sport with the creative energy of street culture. Five-time NBA champion Derek Fisher and Hall of Famer Gary Payton headlined the event, engaging fans with meet-and-greets, courtside coaching, and insightful panel discussions on basketball’s global cultural impact.

A major crowd-puller was the 3v3 Celebrity Game, with Fisher and Payton coaching rival teams featuring Indian stars like Badshah, Disha Patani, Rannvijay Singha, and Varun Sood. After an intense contest, Team Payton claimed the victory.

The cultural buzz extended beyond the court. Day 1 saw electric live sets from Hanumankind & Friends (feat. Parimal Shais and Kalmi), Bombay Mami, and Stick No Bills. Day 2 amped up the energy with Baby J B2B Tye Turner, Benga, and Shioriy Bradshaw, turning the venue into a sonic playground.

Fashion and art took center stage too, with a Streetwear Showcase celebrating the fusion of basketball and street culture. Fans joined in with interactive contests, on-court challenges, and dazzling performances by the Sacramento Kings mascot Slamson, Kings’ Dancers, and the Kings’ dunk team.

A highlight was the Dunk Contest, judged by Fisher and Payton, where local talent delivered gravity-defying feats. Billa Nathan Abraham from Hyderabad emerged victorious, wowing the crowd.

For thousands of fans, the BUDX NBA House was more than just an event; it was a living testament to how basketball bridges borders and inspires communities. With music, sport, fashion, and fan engagement at its core, the event captured the true spirit of the NBA and brought it home to India.
