First time Yakshagana got a deserved recognition. Each time I travel in the globe, I see other nations still preserving and promoting their cultural heritages and operas even in airports and I used feel very sorry for Indian Opera we have Yakshagana in coastal Karnataka, so far not given the deserved recognition due and the art has been a multidimensional entertainment with music, dance and Navarasas and aids to a kind of personality development for viewers when they listen to the great conversations of the stories. Government of India did an excellent deed in recognising Shri Chittani for the Yakshagana feild Padmashri award and hope the effort of the Government continue to recognise the the Yakshagana Opera and artists. Let all Celestial Yakshas rock now to celebrate....Shashikanth from Singapore
