Goa, Jun 10: In a major boost to regional air connectivity, FLY91 has officially launched its Goa–Solapur–Goa direct flight service, further strengthening its growing network across Maharashtra and India. The inaugural flight, which landed at Solapur Airport on Sunday, received a ceremonial water cannon salute, marking the airline's debut in the city known for its industrial and cultural significance.

The newly launched route will operate four times a week — Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays — providing much-needed air connectivity between Goa, a popular tourist destination, and Solapur, an emerging economic and religious hub in southern Maharashtra.

Passengers can access flight timings and bookings on the airline's official website, www.fly91.in. In a thoughtful move catering to local sentiments, all inflight announcements will be made in both Marathi and English.

Solapur has now become the fourth city in Maharashtra to join FLY91’s expanding air route network, following Pune, Jalgaon, and Sindhudurg. With this addition, the airline now connects eight Indian cities, underscoring its commitment to boosting intra-state and inter-state travel.

FLY91 CEO Manoj Chacko remarked, “This route not only enhances connectivity between Goa and Solapur but also strengthens the bond between two regions rich in culture, economy, and spirituality.”

The maiden flight was flagged off in a celebratory event graced by Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Co-operation Murlidhar Mohol, Guardian Minister Jaykumar Gore, local MLAs, officials from the Airports Authority of India, and FLY91 representatives.

Although Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde could not attend due to weather-related issues, they extended their best wishes for the success of the new route.

Looking ahead, FLY91 aims to further deepen its presence in Maharashtra with direct flights from Nanded to Goa and Bengaluru, set to launch in July.

With its regional expansion strategy taking flight, FLY91 is rapidly becoming a key player in enhancing tier-2 and tier-3 connectivity across India.
