Udupi: Man arrested for illegal liquor sale near old KSRTC bus stand

Udupi, Jun 11: The Udupi town police arrested a man for illegally selling liquor in a public place near Asha Bar, close to the old KSRTC bus stand in Moodanidambur village, Udupi taluk, on June 11.

Acting on credible information, the police conducted a raid at the location and apprehended the accused, Shambhuling Madiwal (37), a resident of Uliyadi, Ranebennur, Haveri. He was allegedly selling liquor without a license for personal profit in a public area.

During the operation, the police seized liquor sachets of various brands worth Rs 2,600 and cash amounting to Rs 3,960 from his possession.

A case has been registered at the Udupi town police station. The accused, Shambhuling, has been taken into custody and will be produced before the court.
