Patna, Jun 11: A shocking video allegedly showing an Ayurvedic practitioner in Bihar performing a C-section in unhygienic conditions has sparked public outrage and demands for immediate legal action.
The video, now viral on social media platform X, was shared by a user named ‘THE SKIN DOCTOR’. It shows Kanchan Kumari, an Ayurvedic practitioner from Siwan, operating in what appears to be a cramped, makeshift operating room — without a mask, surgical cap, gloves, or sterilised equipment.
To add to the horror, relatives and onlookers are seen casually standing around the patient during the procedure, wearing regular clothes, with one person allegedly filming a reel while the surgery was underway.
The post strongly condemned the act, highlighting that Kumari identified herself as a "gynecologist and obstetrics" on her Instagram handle, despite being an Ayurvedic practitioner. The user questioned her medical qualifications and slammed the apparent criminal negligence involved.
Online reactions have been swift and severe.
“This isn’t a clinic, it’s a crime scene in the name of healthcare,” wrote one user, demanding her arrest.
“Why is she still practising? She should be in jail for endangering the mother and child,” commented another.
“It looks like they’re partying in a kitchen, not performing surgery. This is outright criminal conduct,” added a third.
Medical professionals and concerned citizens alike have demanded a thorough probe. One user noted, “Performing a C-section without sterilisation, PPE, or anaesthesia is a life-threatening act. This demands strict legal action to uphold healthcare standards and patient safety.”
As of now, there has been no official response from Bihar's health department or local authorities. Public pressure, however, is mounting, and calls for her arrest and medical license scrutiny are growing louder.
