Mangaluru, Jun 11: An air of excitement and environmental consciousness filled the campus of St Theresa’s School as students of grades 3 to 5 stepped onto the ramp for the much-anticipated ‘Trash to Trend’ – Eco Walk, a vibrant fashion parade showcasing creativity with a conscience.

The event commenced with a warm welcome that set the tone for a meaningful and inspiring morning. Organized with precision and enthusiasm by the grade 3 teachers, the fashion parade was a seamless blend of fun and eco-awareness.

A total of 85 young participants confidently walked the ramp, donning innovative outfits crafted entirely from recycled and reused materials. From newspapers and old CDs to plastic bags, bottle caps, and cardboard, each costume was a powerful visual message echoing the theme: ‘Save Earth, Save Our Future.’

Adding depth to the parade, each participant shared the inspiration and thought behind their costume, turning the event into an interactive and educational experience. The audience, made up of students, staff, and school leaders, responded with enthusiastic cheers, acknowledging the hard work and imagination behind every ensemble.

The presence of the principal, vice principal, and faculty members added grace and encouragement to the occasion. The performances were evaluated by Vidhushi Nishvitha, the school's dedicated dance teacher, and Jennica, an esteemed alumnus of the school and proud Miss Kudla awardee. Their expert judgment and uplifting words further enriched the experience for the budding eco-warriors.

The programme concluded on an inspiring note, with the principal commending the students for their awareness and passion, urging everyone present to embrace sustainable practices in their daily lives. The ‘Trash to Trend’ Eco Walk proved that even the youngest minds can lead the way in making the world a greener, cleaner place one creative step at a time.
