Nikhil Sonnad of Expert College secures first rank in state in NEET 2025

Mangaluru, Jun 15: Nikhil Sonnad, a student of Expert Pre-University College, Mangaluru, has achieved a historic feat by securing the 17th rank at the all-India level and first rank in the state in the UG NEET held this year for admission to medical colleges. He achieved this by scoring 670 marks out of a total of 720.

According to the chairman of the institution, Prof Narendra L Nayak, a total of 684 students from the college scored more than 400 marks in the exam — an unprecedented achievement.

Among them:

  • 567 students scored more than 425 marks

  • 440 scored more than 450 marks

  • 324 scored more than 475 marks

  • 233 scored more than 500 marks

  • 146 scored more than 525 marks

  • 81 students scored above 550 marks

  • 57 students scored more than 575 marks

  • 19 students scored more than 600 marks

  • 7 students scored more than 625 marks

Notable achievers include:

  • Nidhi K G – 648 marks, 84th all-India rank (General Merit)

  • Saish Shravan Pandit – 636 marks, 159th rank

  • Shreyas Mallappa Mahalingapur – 632 marks, 214th rank

  • Suchit P Prasad – 631 marks, 226th rank

  • Varun Siddappagouder – 630 marks, 241st rank

  • Siddesh B Dammalli – 626 marks, 317th rank

  • Pooja – 623 marks, 386th rank

  • Vachana L A – 620 marks, 455th rank

  • Manish L – 619 marks, 486th rank

  • Charan Gowda M – 617 marks, 549th rank

  • K Hanan Abdul Rehman – 617 marks, 543rd rank

  • N B Sanika – 611 marks, 771st rank

  • Manvith Vishal – 607 marks, 937th rank

  • Vachana Allamaprabhu Bagodi – 606 marks, 994th rank

  • Tushar R Bhat – 603 marks, 1175th rank

  • Chaitanya T Patil – 601 marks, 1298th rank

  • Sai Lakshminarayan – 601 marks, 1316th rank

  • Yogi Gowda H V – 601 marks, 1320th rank

  • Yashas Gowda H P – 599 marks, 1481st rank

While 56% of all students who appeared for UG NEET nationwide qualified for medical education, 99% of students from Expert Pre-University College, Mangaluru qualified. “This is a testament to the quality of education at our institution,” said Prof Narendra L Nayak.
