Udupi: Colourful Celebrations Mark Republic Day in District

Udupi, Jan 26: Vibrant Republic Day celebrations were held at Municipal Grounds, Ajjarkad, on Thursday January 26.
The state higher education and district-in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya hoisted the national flag on Thursday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Dr Acharya highlighted the significance of Republic Day celebrations to everyone in the country. He also explained the socio-economic benefits that have been introduced by the state administration for the people of different strata in the society.
A colourful march-past was held by the students of various schools across the district on the occasion.
Deputy commissioner Dr Reju, SP Dr Ravi Kumar, zilla panchayat CEO Prabhakar Sharma, Coastal Development Authority chairman Nagaraj Shetty, MLC Ganesh Karnic, entrepreneur Shankar Poojary, ZP president Katpady Shankar Poojary, Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes, Shimoga MP B Y Raghavendra, Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty, Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat, Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, Byndoor MLA B Laxminarayan, Karkal MLA Gopal Bhandary, Kundapur MLA Pratapchandra Shetty, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, town councilor Kiran Kumar, TP president Devdas Hebbar, and district-in-charge secretary S Ramesh Jalagi were also present.
