Lourdes Central School hosts grand investiture ceremony, club inauguration for 2025–26

Mangaluru, Jun 18: The investiture ceremony and club inauguration for the academic year 2025–26 was held with great solemnity and enthusiasm at Lourdes Central School. The event was graced by the chief guest Lt Col Gracian Sequeira, the president of the event Dr Praveen Leo Lasrado, secretary Catholic Board of Education, principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira, vice principal Anitha Thomas, and other esteemed dignitaries including Ashok Pinto, Avitha Cynthia Pinto vice president and secretary, Dr Rashmi D’Souza, vice president of PTEC, Deepa D’Souza academic co-ordinator, and Fr Arul.

The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song led by the school choir, setting a serene and reverent tone for the event.

The programme began with a warm welcome extended by the hosts Kshitij and Manavi, followed by the formal introduction of the dignitaries. A soulful prayer by the school choir set a reverent tone for the morning.

The welcome address was delivered by Liya Peris of Class 12A, followed by the introduction of the chief guest by Sharmila Colaco. The ceremonial lamp lighting, led by the dignitaries, symbolised the light of wisdom and the beginning of a new leadership journey.

One of the most significant moments of the ceremony was the oath-taking ceremony, where the newly elected student council members were conferred with badges and sashes by the chief guest and Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado. The oath of office was administered by the principal, marking the official investiture of the school cabinet.

The clubs of LCS were also inaugurated by the president along with the dignitaries. There are 16 clubs namely eco, toast masters, dance, knitting, philately, herbal eco heritage, drama and theatre, quiz wizard, electriq, guides, financial literacy, debate, the wood works, band, scouts, mass media.

The chief guest, Lt Col Gracian Sequeira, addressed the gathering with words of inspiration and wisdom, reminding us that while the power of effective communication and writing paves the way to success, it is our dedication to mental and physical well-being that truly sustains us on life's journey.

Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado narrated a meaningful story, emphasizing that every individual is blessed by God with unique potential. However, it is our responsibility to nurture that gift, study diligently, and grow into the person we are truly meant to be.

"Education is not about producing photocopies, but about nurturing originals." In this spirit, Lourdes Central School takes utmost care in designing a curriculum that fosters the all-round development of every student.

The newly appointed head boy Aryan Pai, head girl Kyra Hansika Prasad, deputy head boy Jaden Baptist and Eva Lisa Lobo proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.

The programme concluded with the School Anthem, followed by a photo session for the newly sworn-in cabinet and club representatives, coordinated by Vishvanath.

The event was anchored seamlessly by the student compères: Kshitij, Manavi, Eihab, Charvi, Ansh, Aanchal, and Nabeeha. The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the responsibilities that come with leadership and the opportunities that lie ahead for the student body.
