Udupi, Jun 20: St Mary's English school, Kannarpady celebrated the investiture ceremony and inauguration of clubs for the academic year 2025-26 in School Auditorium on June 18. The ceremony marked the official induction of student leaders and office bearers, elected through a democratic process into their esteemed roles.

The programme commenced with a solemn prayer setting an auspicious tone for the momentous occasion. The school council members and club leaders marched in procession accompanied by the school band to receive their official badges.

Principal Fr Vijay Joyson D'Souza extended a warm welcome to the gathering. The dignitaries inaugurated the student council 2025-26 by lighting the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the spirit of goodwill and purity.

The principal administered the oath of office to the speaker Hafid Hanif Moidin, who in turn administered the oath to the newly elected head boy Snehal S Hegde, head girl Navya R Shetty, ministers and the club leaders.

The principal Fr Vijay Joyson D'Souza and vice principal Rita Quadros honoured the elected leaders with sashes and badges marking their official induction. The student leaders shared a candlelight moment symbolizing unity and harmony within the school parliament.

In their inaugural speeches, the head boy and head girl expressed gratitude to their peers and pledged to uphold the school's vision and mission. The various enrichment clubs formed for the academic year 2025 - 26 were uniquely inaugurated by the dignitaries.

The occasion also witnessed the release of the 14th edition of 'Marian Panorama,' the school's annual magazine. Helen Cornelio, the editor presented a brief overview of the magazine's creation.

Chief guest Dr Megha Pai, a renowned nephrologist and the proud alumna, emphasized the importance of unity and integrity in fostering a harmonious campus culture. The president of the program Fr Denis D'Sa, PRO of Udupi diocese and the parish priest of St Anne's Church, Thottam urged the elected leaders to embody humility, accountability and positivity in their approach.

The programme was anchored by Daniel Prince (Grade 11) and Amrutha Shetty (Grade 10). Assistant head boy Kaustubha M Rao and assistant head girl Riva Mendonca proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with a rendition of the national anthem.
