Srinivas University, Institute of Aviation Studies organises International Yoga Day celebration

Mangaluru, Jun 21: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21, with enthusiasm and strong participation from students.

Organised in collaboration with Decathlon Mangaluru, the event aimed to promote physical health, mental well-being, and mindfulness through the practice of yoga.

The event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of dean Dr Pavithra Kumari, head of the department and NSS coordinator, Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University. The celebration featured two engaging sessions conducted by experienced yoga instructors.

The first session was led by Neena Pai, senior yoga instructor from Delampady Yoga Pratishtana, who guided the participants through a series of yoga postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. Her session emphasised the importance of physical flexibility and mental calm, offering students practical methods to manage stress and enhance their well-being.

Around 60 students from BBA Aviation Management, BBA Aviation and Logistics Management, and BBA Aviation Travel and Tourism Management actively participated, demonstrating a strong interest in holistic health and wellness.

The second session was conducted by Roshni Shenoy, a well-known yoga instructor recognised for her engaging approach. She led the students through a structured routine of asanas, pranayama, and relaxation techniques, focusing on mental clarity, inner balance, and overall fitness. This session witnessed the enthusiastic participation of approximately 70 students from the same academic programmes.

The involvement of Sanvi Shetty, executive at Decathlon Mangaluru, further added value to the event by strengthening the collaboration between academia and the wellness industry.

The programme concluded with a warm vote of thanks to both yoga instructors for their valuable contributions, and to all the students and faculty members whose active participation made the event a success. The celebration reinforced the importance of incorporating yoga into everyday life as a means to achieve a balanced, healthy lifestyle and overall personal well-being.
